BMW E21 GROUP 5 « JÄGERMEISTER »

Description

At the end of the 70s, BMW ordered the development of a new race car to compete in Group 5. Based on the lighter chassis of the E21 and powered by the Formula 2-derived M12 engine, the Motorsport department was going to strike hard. 304 hp at 9250 rpm, 740kg and 50/50 weight distribution, an ultra-large body – that’s all it took to become a legend. Made famous by the Faltz team during the 1977 season, Jägermeister’s orange cars will take pride of place in the Hall of Fame of motorsport livery.

The team’s opinion

With the widespread use of aerodynamic add-ons in top-level motor racing in the early 1970s, wild appendages began to appear. Larger, more radical, more iconic. Coupled with decorations from cigar manufacturers or distillers, this is the very identity of the golden age of motor racing. A Proust’s madeleine to have at home.
